I must admit… I don’t like to leave my comfort zone when it comes to food. When my wife and I arrived at the hotel in Giza, we were starving. The hotel didn’t have a restaurant and the night manager informed us that we can have food delivered. This was the tricky part because the menu was in Arabic and the manager was trying to translate it to us, but we just didn’t get it. There was a bit of a language barrier. I tried to let the manager know I don’t eat lamb, but you guessed it. Lamb was what I got! The dinner plate did come with chicken, rice, and flat bread. I ate everything, but the lamb. It wasn’t that bad. The rice was well seasoned and cooked to perfection with a fluffy texture. The chicken was grilled, flavorful and moist. My wife tried the lamb, and enjoyed it as well. Overall, it was a great experience to eat food from the motherland. We dined on the roof of the hotel with an amazing view of the pyramids.
Food for the soul...
